2024年より事業構築に伴走してきた、運河沿いのエリア再整備について、名古屋市より事業内容が公開されました。物流インフラとして長く都市を支えてきた運河沿いの土地に対して、建築的な思考と実践によって、どのような環境を立ち上げることができるのか。本プロジェクトでは、建築やランドスケープの設計にとどまらず、土地の歴史や産業、人々の営みを手がかりに、その場所にふさわしい環境のあり方を模索しています。2024年に運河で実施したプロジェクト「風景：いる／みる／みえる」から続く実践として、都市や土地を固定された対象ではなく、変化し続ける環境として捉え、その場所に潜在する空間や時間の条件を、建築的実践を通して継続的に読み解いていきます。


The City of Nagoya has announced the redevelopment project for the Nakagawa Canal waterfront area, a project we have been accompanying since 2024 through its planning and development.The project asks how architectural thinking and practice can cultivate new environments within a site that has long functioned as part of the city's industrial and logistical infrastructure. Going beyond the design of buildings and landscapes, we work with the site's history, industries, and everyday activities to explore forms of environment that are specific to this place.Building on our 2024 project Landscape: Being / Seeing / Becoming Visible, we approach the city and its sites not as fixed objects but as evolving environments. Through architectural practice, we will continue to investigate the spatial and temporal conditions embedded within the site and the possibilities they make visible.
